Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of a Naval aviator, travel and exploration have been a constant in Jami's life.

In the mid seventies Jami traveled to Lisbon Portugal directly after the Carnation Revolution. The changing political environment fostered entrepreneurship and a welcoming arts community.  Jami sought out masters in the fields of stone carving and bronze casting whom she learn from and worked alongside. She set up her first studio in Monte Estoril before moving to the mountain town of Sintra where she continued to work and teach.

Jami Nix was invited to hold her first solo exhibition at the American Embassy Residence, in Lisbon, which led to a long working relationship with the Eric Tannock and the Lisbon based Galeria Sesimbra. Her work was exhibited  in European galleries.

In the early eighties Jami Nix Rahn moved to Geneva Switzerland where she continued to work in stone and marble at Studio Moret in Petit Lancy.  Four years later she moved to Brazil and then back to the U.S. in 1988.

While living in New York, Nix Rahn studied portraiture under renowned portrait painter Daniel Greene. She later attended master classes in painting at the Art Students League and the National Academy.

Currently Nix Rahn splits her time working out of studios at the edge of the Everglades in Weston Florida and high in the Rocky Mountains in Edwards Colorado.  She donates her time serving as President of the Arts Council of Greater Weston.

Nix Rahn's works have been exhibited nationally &  internationally and are included in public & private collections worldwide.
