Urban and Pedestrian series are inspired by the creative influence of urban environments as seen from the pedestrian view.

From Geneva Switzerland where time seems to have stopped and men still gather to play chess in the park to Miami Florida’s  Wynwood district where decaying warehouses are bathed in gentrified graffiti, My recent paintings explore street views and multiple voices of people living in the twenty first century.

I am a realist and a figurative painter, I admire the history and genre paintings of the old masters.  My interest in the formal aspects of painting is what leads me to paint my images in traditional oil paint along with newer alkyd resins.

In some "Urban" and "Pedestrian" series paintings I have played with notions of reality by inserting a small pigment print into the painted surface creating a micro narrative and provoking the viewer into questioning what is more real the painting or the photograph?
